OUR
TOURING
STYLE

One Life Cycling is doing cycling tours a bit differently.
Our experience and numerous hours spent with happy clients taught us what you like.
And we’re happy to say that we have so much in common!

So what is actually our cycling touring style?
Taking you beyond the usual cycling routes, and covering more than just must-see sights, we always try to add a splash of adventure, gourmet delights, and surprise, while not going extreme at the same time.
Like a magic carpet ride, our premium full-suspension electric motor assisted ebikes will take you hovering above any terrain and will make climbing any uphill as easy as you want it.
Tours, same as life, can be unpredictable. The best response is to be as flexible as possible. That’s why our groups are always small, safe, and cozy. With the advantage of small groups, every tour could be tailored before and during to match you snuggly like your favorite pajamas.
Having almost every option handpicked by experts already included in the price, without reaching for the card and pondering about choices, makes your vacation hassle-free.
That makes a regular tour a boutique journey to remember.

Routes

Having a great compact team of clients, amazing and capable bikes, and well-experienced and educated tour leaders allow us to create amazing routes. We are always aiming to avoid major roads and crowded tourist hot spots, and to find an authentic route revealing the character of the region.
Routes are road-oriented, but we’re not shy to take you on gravel roads and an occasional well-maintained dual or single trail. If you’re a strict road rider, have no fear. Our mighty and comfortable full-suspension ebikes can handle all of them and still make you feel like you’re riding an asphalt road. Surface selection differs from tour to tour and day to day, and can be subject to slight changes depending on the group’s ambitions.
To make the most of your valuable vacation time, our tours normally don’t have any rest days. Those can be fitted in as an option of a riding day or a rest day (when in the same accommodation) or as an extra day (or days) if the tour is private.

Groups

Group size ranges from a minimum of four (4) to a maximum of twelve (12) participants. Experience taught us that in such an intimate group size, every character and age would easily fuse together in a fun and compact team with a family-like bond.
We’ve had it all, from couples, solo riders, and families, to a group of friends, and they all had in common mutual enjoyment and understanding of their similarities and differences. Having a team, rather than a big group makes all the difference to you and us as well.

Support &
Logistics

From your arrival to your departure, we’ve got you covered. Our team or local partners will organize a convenient and complimentary shuttle from the official airport to the accommodation (and vice-versa), on official arrival and departure dates.
Designated Tour Leader or two Tour Leaders (from groups of 9 to 12) are always experienced, knowledgeable, resourceful, certified, well educated, and most importantly, interesting individuals.
The support vehicle is present on every tour, be it to deliver luggage to accommodations, supply refreshments, and snacks, have spare parts for the bikes, or carry a few tired riders. It’s not always trailing the group but is within a maximum of 1 hour away.
From the moment you book the tour until you leave for the departing airport, Tour Director or Tour Leader will be at your disposal for any additional questions and support. We are always aiming to reply as soon as possible, but please allow up to 24 hours for a reply in some circumstances.

Meals

Why bother with making constant choices off the menu when you can have local experts and tour leaders choosing the best ingredients and dishes in the area (taking into account your special dietary needs, of course). Our team is diverse and includes vegans, vegetarians, and carnivores, so your needs are ours as well. Meals are aimed to be prepared in authentic (upscale if available) local restaurants or eateries, sometimes mingling you with locals and their everyday life.
Breakfast is included on each day of the tour (except the arrival day) at the accommodation.
Lunch is usually a light one since cycling with a full stomach is uncomfortable or even makes you sleepy. In areas without appropriate eateries, a picnic is organized by our support vehicle. On some tours, tastings include lunch-sized meals. Included daily except rest days (if any), arrival, and departure days.
Dinner is a well-deserved feast after a full day of cycling. Often consisting of multiple-course meals, fueling you for the next day. Included daily except rest days (if any) and departure day.
Snacks are available from the support vehicle each morning before we leave the accommodation, so you can prepare your own choice of energy and fuel. Consisting of a choice of fruits, bars, and various nuts.
Drinks like water and isotonic, same as snacks, are available every morning for refilling your water bottles. During dinners and lunches, water (tap) or bottled and soft drinks are included.

Accommodation

Tired of massive and dull hotel chains, their constant hustle and bustle, with lack of character and a homely local atmosphere? So are we.
How about family-owned boutique hotels, upscale B&Bs, estates, and inspirational villas? Each accommodation on our tour always aims to land in that category. It is carefully selected before making the final call.
Some beautiful localities on our tours may not offer nearby accommodation apart from a comfortable or upscale “regular” hotel and are the exception to our rule. But be certain that they go through the same scrutiny, otherwise, we are rather using the shuttle van to take you to the closest accommodation of our first choice.

Activities

Tastings are offered on certain tours and certain days. Be it wine, dairy products, craft beer, strong spirits, olive oil, truffle, or cheese, every tasting is organized at the producer’s location and orchestrated by their knowledgeable staff. If part of the official itinerary, they are always included.
Entrance fees to Nature parks, National parks, museums, and others, if part of the official itinerary, are included.
Options not mentioned in the itinerary, like outdoor activities such as kayaking, SUP (stand-up paddling), hiking trips, cave visits, or cultural activities such as galleries, museums, and similar, can be arranged and provided by One Life team, our associates or recommended companies at an extra price.

Gear
included

The Premium Welcome package presented at the first briefing on arrival day includes various goodies (we won’t spoil the surprise) which are often practical and will come in handy during your tour.
Bike luggage bag, located conveniently at the front of the bike. Large enough for small daily necessities, such as snacks, light windbreaker,  phone, spare t-shirt, and other small personal items.
A helmet during cycling is mandatory but is NOT included. We believe it’s a personal item and a hygienic issue. Please bring your own tried and tested helmet.

The
bike

Our main bike of choice is made by a premium brand, Giant Bicycles, the world’s largest bicycle designer and manufacturer. Not wanting to sacrifice your comfort or the quality of the tour by avoiding some roads or paths, we opted for a full-suspension mountain bike (MTB).
By opting for all of our bikes to be electric assist bikes or ebikes, we aimed to lift the quality of the tour even higher. No more big differences in the group, where the group was often too slow or too fast for some. By choosing your assistance level (ranging from 1 to 5) you’ll fit in the group like a glove without sacrificing your comfort or the need for a challenging ride.
Batteries are 625 Ah, which is plenty to last you for the whole day of riding.
Our fleet consists of bikes with the same specification, but on rare occasions, we might provide a different bike with the same or better components.
More technical details about the bike can be found here.

Difficulty
levels

One Life cycling tours are designed to provide you with an experience of immersion into nature, culture, and cuisine, connecting them with the joy that cycling provides. Having said that, it is obvious that our tours are not intended for pro cyclists, elite athletes, or those in search of ultimate workout training for their next triathlon. Of course, we are aware that many of you are not at the same endurance or stamina level, but why wouldn’t you all enjoy the tour together?
That’s why our e-bikes are leveling the playing field for cyclists of different fitness levels.

In general, tours do have their average difficulty rating. Of course, almost every tour day can be tuned down or up, depending on the group’s ambitions. With the help of your Tour Leader and the support van, you can ride as much or as little as you like.

Tour difficulty levels are a self-assessment task and don’t hesitate to contact us about more details or to discuss in more detail before booking your tour. Some days are more difficult or easy than others, the level itself is a general overview of an average day on tour.
